This is a discussion on im just not hungry within the Eating Disorders forums, part of the Mental and Physical Health category; well lately i havent been eating that much, i dont eat breakfast or lunch...i only eat dinner, i just fing ...

well lately i havent been eating that much, i dont eat breakfast or lunch...i only eat dinner, i just fing that im just not hungry anymore, alot of people are worried but its nothing im fine, they just dont understand that im not hungry people think i have an eating disorder but i dont...and when i do eat i only eat a little bit but somedays...i kinda binge and cram everything in my mouth

sounds a bit like my eating habits. i only eat a dinner, but some days i binge... when i was at school my friends thoughts i was anorexic cus no-one ever saw me eat, they didnt understand at all.

It sounds like you guys aren't eating nearly enough or as often as you should be. You see, the body breaks down food into energy, and blah blah blah... you know all this. Seriously, though, you might want to try to force yourselves to eat something small in the morning. At the very least I would take a multivitamin each day...

You really should eat in the morning--something. I used to never eat in the morning. But when you do your metabolism kicks in and you will feel better all day. You don't have to eat alot. Also, when you don't eat, you can fool your body into thinking that you're starving so it will store whatever you do eat instead of burning it and you are tired all the time. You're metabolism goes out of balance. Loss of appetite, too, is common with depression.

beautifullyscarred - Suggestion here, maybe try to eat a few smaller meals during the day, it will help you all the way around. I understand what you're saying, there's some days I do that, but you're body stores fat, esp., when we don't feel hungry. Eating smaller meals, keeps our "furnace buring." Or if you truly are unable to do that, the suggestion that the Administrator suggested is extremely helpful.....

I don't eat much either. but my coach makes us eat protein before games and now i'm hooked on them, i have them for breakfast sometimes if i can't bring myself to eat anything else, or if i know i'm not gonna eat again for awhile. i found a really really good black forest cake one mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Protein in the morning is so important. You can really dig yourself into a deeper hole by not eating good wholesome meals. Your body and your mind are connected...if you don't eat, your body isn't getting what it needs...then your mind isn't getting what it needs, either. The formation and functioning of many neurotransmitters is dependent, at least in part, on your diet.
It's hard to eat when you feel like shit. But EAT! because eating will help you to feel better. And don't eat crappy food, it's better to fast than to eat crappy food. White flour products and sugary cereals in the morning will vamp your energy and make it hard for you to...live. Do you eat eggs? Eggs are good for you in the morning if you're not allergic to them: high-quality protein, easily available, easy to cook.
Fasting is a powerful tool for self-discovery...indigenous peoples all over the world have engaged in ritual fasting to help clarify...things. I sometimes fast for several days, and I find it's amazingly effective at putting things into perspective. Some people like to fast one day a week. But you shouldn't fast if you're malnourished, and if you aren't eating regular meals most of the time you're probably somewhat malnourished. If you're eating regular meals, but those meals aren't good for you (i.e. white flour, white sugar, no veggies, too much preservatives/additives/food coloring/SOY) you're probably malnourished too. Most people are.

in that case im extremely malnourished... o well, i dont really care... i do eat fruit and veggies (love em) but i love my choc.... eat far 2 much of it, and potatoes are gr8. thats pretty much my diet... good ay?

Then try Slim Fast to supplement in your own diet what you're lacking. Those kind of things are just ment to assist you; not to drink them all of the time, but a can a day shouldn't hurt. Just to be on the safe side, ask your doctor. They also might have some other supplemental drinks that they might be able to help you with, even a Pharmists can help you with that. Just my thoughts......
