be careful though, I ate myself into nutritional deficiencies by accident. I kept trying to be healthy, super healthy. and I felt really good for a while, then everything fell apart. Nerve damage, I was pale ( natural tan usually, but one year I just didn't tan at all, and I was hiking all over the desert!). Hair was thin and icky. Deficiencies were bad. Had to take injections for one, and prescription strength vitamins for the others. That was the beginning. When the vitamins kicked in, the pain started. Supposedly it was the nerves waking back up? So, now the tan is back. I gave myself a buzz cut to get rid of the icky hair, the new hair grew in nice, thick and soft. I am careful still with food, and make from scratch everything. But I make sure I add a little of everything, maybe not perfect everyday, but I am trying to not freak out so much about food. It's less painful to eat well than take the vitamins. Which I stopped just maybe a few months back. I am still recovering and hopefully will begin to hike again.
