Default Lucid/Vivid Dreams

Has anyone ever had dreams that they were able to control?
Like you knew that you were sleeping, but could consciously manipulate the dream you were in.

I've had this happen on a number of occasions. Nothing of interest usually ever occurs in the dreams, but it is weird changing things radically.

EX: A few nights ago, I had a dream that I was on a cruise ship. Me and my fiancee (random person IDK) had privately rented a ship, so we were the only ones there. We were attending a late night dinner show when the entertainer (pianist) pulled out a gun and shot my date.

It was around this time that I was able to control the dream. From there, it somehow ended up like a Matrix/Titanic mesh. Needless to say it was weird, and I was very confused when I awoke.

Anyone else had experiences like this?

Yeah I used to practice it a lot. I only had about 5 proper lucid dreams.

Theres a whole site/forum here Lucid Dreaming -- Dream Views if you want to learn more about it. Its fun, but nowadays I cant get to sleep nearly as quickly and as long as you should for it.

I used to have nightmares about snakes, I taught myself to fly, well, float actually. When I dream of something scary I just float above it. It's pretty cool.

I once had a dream where I could fly. Later on the dream changed and I remembered flying, but I wouldnt get off the ground, I ran and I kicked as hard as I could but I still felt the ground pulling me down.

It was depressing because when I was flying, it was inside a huge black storm cloud - the inexplicable, precise type you might only find in crappy sci fi or fantasy. Now I'm just remembering that dream so well... It started off like Mario, and then I came up to litereally, this giant, thick column of black, blue purply smoke. I looked in and I was scared, but then a narrating voice boomed out something along the lines of "she knew that if she stepped inside it, she'd never be scared and everything would be fine". So I did, and I just stared up, it was like a small, high roofed room with the walls made of dark, oddly coloured smoke. There were little ledges all the way up, and I heard someone I knew call me, so I jut kicked off the ground - so softly - and I was flying. I was living the dream, I just quickly floated up and I found them, we just kept going up and eventually I was outside my house with them, it was dark, and then I told them I could fly, and I just couldnt. It hurt, because it was one of those semi lucid dreams, where you feel in complete control even though you know this isnt real, you feel POWERFUL, and then that little bit is taken from you.

Lucid dreaming is considered by some to be a form of enlightenment. If you can reach this state you can tap into your creativity. You can find better interpretations from your dreams by asking specific questions and so on. It is a really amazing experience so enjoy it as often as you can.

I was just going to post a thread about this, but I figured there had to be someone else who already did! I have lucid dreams, and have had them since I was very small. Like 3yrs old. I had no idea that not everyone can do this until about a year ago. It comes naturally, but I just thought it was part of dreaming. I was surprised to find all these books and what not that teach people to control their dreams. It's pretty cool when you feel like you are thinking consciously while dreaming.
