Default i hate dreams

i never really enjoyed my dreams, even they were pleasant, I sometimes fail to distinguish dream from real life. The feeling I experience in the dream I still feel them when I wake up. And now, I had a dream where something important was stolen from me and I can't get rid off the feeling until now.

When I woke up, I was crying. I really hate dreams especially nightmares. I get so paranoid when I wake up and that feeling isn't nice. Also when my dreams are so perfect, I get the feeling it's true but it's not. So it's annoying to have some hope when there isn't. Example, when my grandfather died I had a dream he was alive, healthy and happy. Guess that happy dream made me feel like a piece of shit for a long time because I know he's dead and never coming back. It made me regret things, it made me regret a lot of things. I wished I was more kinder to him, more responsible, more caring.... and I wish wasn't born because I wasn't worthy of his care. I hate dreams. They make me believe something else and it hurts so much when I can't accomplish things I want too.

are there ways to stop dreaming?

When you figure out to stop the nightmares, please bottle it, and you'll be rich lol.

First, I'm sorry about your dreams about your grandfather. I also have guilt feelings about my grandparents, because, I was not there for them while alive. And I'm sorry you feel as you should not have been born, you are worthy. You're life is a great value. I don't know what you go through, but that's sad to hear. Hope this will change for you.

I have a hard time distinguishing reality from dreams. When I wake, I often have to lay there and wonder if it was a dream. Dreams can be so vivid.

Dreams might not go away. Don't think you can stop dreaming. There are meds (supposedly) that can lesson them. I'd have to check, as its been years. It was an old blood pressure med. Actually, not worth it.

Feel better.

I'm not sure of any ways to stop dreaming but I can relate. The feelings I get from dreams, especially nightmares (which happen too often), stick with me all day. Causes a lot of anxiety. I'm sorry you're dealing with it too. I know some medications can effect dreams...are you currently on any that could have vivid or wild dreams a a side effect? Big hugs, I hope you're okay now. <3

@Gene My dreams are usually vivid too that's why I'm always confused if it was a dream or a memory and I've mixed those two often. I think if I'll ever get meds for those I would need to see a doctor or therapist, and I've sworn myself to not go to a therapist. Since I don't want to bother anyone and I have issues with talking to a stranger face to face about problems. I can't really handle situations like that very well.

@Emily I've never been on medication only when i was sick (and it's usually antibiotics, the usual medicine), but a few of my friends and one counselor have advise me to seek them. I rather not, though. I would actually be glad if it was only nightmares bothering me, but even the pleasant dreams are a pain to me.

Gene and Emily :)

I think I heard somewhere that some scientific studies show that impulses mind receives/sends while we dream,my are the same as ones it receives/sends while we're awake. So, if that is true, there is no way to distinct dream from reality.

I'm kinda weird when it comes to dreams. I don't really hate nightmares. I don't like them, but I don't mind them that much. I easily get over it once I'm awake. But, God, how much I hate happy dreams. One moment you have something you always wanted, and you're so happy, and next moment you're awake and realise it wasn't real. You know, your own brain is playing tricks on you, and you can't do anything

Yes, it's terrible. I also hate happy dream, because it ruins the perception of reality.

to all you hate/not hate dream believers i give you my opinion on dreams==
i reckon when we go to bed and we dream our unconscious mind goes on=be it happy, moody, worried etc...I do not know what sets on a dream?speaking about myself i often daydream about my past,i sometimes got horrible dreams where i always was a victim,a culprit or even got killed?what does this mean?does anyone believe in dreams?i used to be a dream explainer in a forum, but i do not know whether we have to put a belief in an explanation of a dream..
is it effectively true? to all you hate or not hate dream believers i give you my opinion on dreams==
Dream Moods A-Z Dream Dictionary
let me know if the explanation fits with HOW you saw your dream...
there are daydreams and maladaptive daydreams==a HUGE difference,I think?
i say a hi to penguinlord, gene, emily, shacke and big jess here for replying in this thread...i am doubting if dreams tell us the truth about ourself or not??are we just dreaming??or do we go further and is there something more?
