I love the night, I love the dark
The moon, a lamp, the star, a spark
My blood coalesces with earth and sky
The knife, the pain that gets me high

I love to burn and burn again
I live to die, drink it in like champagne
I dance with these bullets, hot lead and pain
I eat me like candy, and let death cover me like rain

Then I’ll watch others suffer, and maketh them scream
Rotting flesh oozes like a morbid stream
And when I’ve had my fill, it’s my turn again
I’ll flay the membrane form my wrist and my vein

And when the day’s done, I rest with the dead
Where dirt and bone and flesh are my bed
You may say I’m crazy, but when you join in
You’ll see how fun it is to rend your own skin

Very nice - this poem is well written. Dark, scary, and sad...and rather a pathetic way of having to view the world. I'm so sorry for you and all that you've endured. Hopefully, things will seem better soon.

Chicago is a cool place and I hope you find some of that. I have thought so much about what you said about school being so different than where you came from. Calling your teachers by their first names is awesome - and the comfort that you felt there is undeniably great. Don't let your new school situation ruin who you are and what you believe. It may be a different system, but you are still you. Define yourself by what you know, not what they make you think. Good luck.
