I enjoyed the whole article, but the middle sections (Depression, Defined and Explained, Three ‘Kinds’ of Depression
) were particularly good. It gave me a new way of thinking about depression which I hadn't considered before (that it is a sort of a 'shutdown', which decreases our acquisition of new skills or resources).
It does not contain any direct advice on how to deal with depression, so if that's what you are looking for, you might consider skipping or skimming this one.
