Default What is some good depressing music?
When i am feeling down, i *CAN'T* listen to anything happy. It just makes me more miserable. It's alot easier for me to listen to sad music because i can relate to it and it somehow makes me feel better. I love music from the likes of Nick Drake, and Elliott Smith. Does anyone know any songs in particular that i should listen to? This is my favourite song at the moment..

hey I feel same way, I enjoy evanescence, music, and Alannis Morressette, sometimes they right about life and its ups and downs. - I don't know if I spelled them right lol- . but I bet you can find em on google. I also play some within temptation. Great band too. Hope ya find something- though I do try to play Mamma MIa sound track when i am low- . I find I sing to their songs. XX

Portishead (nearly ANY song is sad)
One song that is sooo bloody depressing I won't be able to hear it for at least a year is: Heart of Glass --redone by Old School Freight Train (it makes me jump off a bridge, but that's partly for personal reasons)
Everybody Knows by Leonard Cohen (he has a number of good depressing songs)

I feel the same way as you. I listen to depressing music when I'm depressed too because I can relate to it. Some of my favorites:
Missy Higgins: "Nightminds" and "The Special Two"
Keane: "Bad Dream" and "Bedshaped" and "Somewhere Only We Know"
NIN: "Hurt"
Corey Taylor (Slipknot): "Bother"
Simple Plan: "Welcome to My Life" and "Untitled"
And pretty much anything by Linkin Park

I could probably go on and on though.

i usually listen to Radiohead or Depeche Mode when i'm depressed. they have some pretty good stuff

I like Lustmord. It's dark ambient so I'm not sure if that's what you are looking for though. I hate happy music! I hate it!

i like the cure quite a lot, disintegration is quite a good album, placebo is good when im feeling extra low. floyd and bob dylan when i feel lonely.

i really agree with you, happy music usually makes me feel a lot worse.
