Thumbs up Heavy metal and alternative music...

Has saved my life. When I have no one to talk to... it's great to listen to it; it feels like i'm venting in my head and i that i have someone to relate to through lyrics. Anyone else feel similar? =]

Metal is incredible in regards to this sense of relating. It feels like a true connection between song writer and listener.

"Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away. Now it looks as though they're here to stay. Oh, I believe in yesterday."

While I don't listen to that much metal, I do find much solitude in my music. This lyric seems to be the story of my life.

Wow I didn't realize other people do that. Yeah when I don't want to feel pain, if im hurting. I like to listen to music usually it's 1 song over n over. I usually like in the car cuz I need it LOUD n not crazy bout hdphones. Disturbed The Game, Stupify, Dwn w Sickness. Linkin Park, Rage against Machine I don't like rap but for like a year my song was 187 on a undercovercop, then motherfuckin cop when I heard that version. I lived wher noone coukd here me play loud. I set youtube up to play 187 songs over n over, I just get out of shower. Knock on door 2 cops, n cps. Bitch would not shut-up bout my choice in music, like I was breakin the law.

Every time I listen to music, weather it be on the bus or at home on the chair, it brings some light in to how Iam feeling.
This pass through my mind alot when I listen to it:

So many things I wanna say to you
Sorry for the things that I know I put you through
No matter what you always put a smile upon my face
Just know that I love you more than anything, just incase.
We all die

Wednesday 13 - We all die.

I would have been been dead were it not for metal at age 12, I wanted to kill myself but had a few bands I wanted to see before I die.

not much of a metal fan but the band TOOL is a very huge vent in my head

The Cure, Depeche Mode, NIN - they all have been in the past

but I've been avoiding them because I'm afraid I'm going to go overboard at this point in my life

Personally I don't listen to metal, but I do like alternative stuff (I don't know what to call the music I listen to but I've seen it referred to as "post hardcore" a lot.... idk lol)

Anyway, the feeling is true of any genre depending on the person. There are two bands I really like right now - Circa Survive and Saosin, and their songs just sort of 'fit' with me and how I feel. I don't feel lonely when I'm listening to their music. Even when the lyrics don't mean a thing to me, the sound is just amazing.
