8ft tall behemoth. Eyes blacker then any moonless night sky in all I have seen. Gaping maw of a mouth, silently shrieking vile curses in between its dripping fangs that were drenched in the blood of the villagers. Its arms out stretched like the cloak of Death itself. Its mutated, void-like, hide covering its body down to its giant clawed feet. A body lay before it, that of a mother....it was the wife of the leader of the village. It turned to face us, all of the men were shuddering in the sheer terror that was in front of us. I was scared. More scared then I had ever been, it was the kind of fear that was primal in its nature. The most basic of instincts at its very core. It engulfed me, controlled me, I could not move...or speak...or make a sound. I looked across to one of the demons arms....It was clutching the little girl. She was so young, blood of her mother was strewn across her face. The blood in such a way it looked like she had witnessed the creature tear her mothers life right out of her body and it had splattered on her face, and on her soul.

The creature dropped her. It started walking towards us. We could not move. I tried to talk. I tried to do something! I had to save the girl! I had to save my men!
"b...bb...Back!.......De...Demon!" I muttered fearfully.

I think it was laughing. The sound of metal scraping across rock was all I could make out...one of the most gut wrenching, terrifying sounds I will ever hear.

With one swipe of its hands, my men were cast aside, I was left standing before it...alone....so alone. With both hands it grabbed my arms. Forcing me to drop my sword. It was ripping me apart. It brought me to eye level with itself...at least what I believed to be eyes. I felt my very essence being drained right out of me, my mind was fading, my strength flowing out of me like a river. I was going to die.

The girl...she cautiously got up...and hurried over to her mother. Crying tears so full of sorrow it would of made the most battle-hardened veterans weep in agony. She gently pushed at her mothers shoulders.....it was too late though. Her life had been taken from her. The girl stood up. Staring at the Demon that had a hold of me.

She let out a scream. But not the same as the one before. It was not out of fear, but out of rage. Out of anger, hatred, vengeance, all of her emotion came pouring out in her voice. Her voice, it sounded like the song of a thousand angels destroying themselves in hellfire.

The demon dropped me to the floor, my body so tired I could barely breathe. It turned to the girl, its eyes burning, it too let out a roar. But it was not as powerful. The emotion of the girl was too strong. It overwhelmed the beast, the fire in its eyes growing....spouting forth from its body. The demon was being destroyed...from the inside. But underneath its black hide....was the flesh of a human. A man? but how could this be?

The beast, fully engulfed in the fires of hatred, let out one last shriek before the blackness was ripped from the flesh of the man underneath. Swirling above the man in a torrent of pain and fire. The flames then darted towards the girl, I lifted my hand and tried to mutter something to stop it...but it was no use. The fire hit the girl. Its black fires went straight into the heart of the girl. She collapsed. Lifeless, on the scorched earth beneath her.

The man that was under the blackness of the beast....was that of her father.

I focused on my breathing for a few minutes, making sure I had the strength to get up. I slowly crawled onto all fours, making my way over to the girl, it felt like an eternity. Blood was mixing in the dirt beneath me, forming a deep earthy mud, the building was even more ablaze now. It was starting to crash around us. I had to get up. Get my men out. Save the girl...if she was still alive. I clambered to my feet, coughing and spluttering as I went, I moved over to the girl and picked her up. She wasn't breathing, but she had a pulse!

Even after that experience her body still desperately clung to the life she now so deserved. My men were helping each other as they all got up and slowly limped towards the door which was now completely splintered over the floor. We kept our heads low as the smoke began to fill up the hall. I placed the girl on my shoulder and struggled towards the exit. Just making it out before the building fell down with a monstrous crash.

But the fact remained, we did not know what we had just witnessed, and how it came to be created. And why was this girls father engulfed by the darkness? was he the monster? or merely a vessel? Many questions were left unanswered that day. We had to wait until the girl regained consciousness. We took what strength we had left and pressed toward the nearest town, some 5 miles away. We kept trying to revive the girl a long the way, but to no avail. She needed a healer, or maybe it was too late? had the darkness consumed her as well?

We finally arrived in the town, rushing towards the church to get to the priest and the nurses. My men collapsed outside near the well gasping for water. I burst through the door with everything I had left, calling out for aid.
"Help! Help me!" I coughed and stumbled across the stone floor of the church, holding the girl out in my arms, reaching towards the priest that was hurrying in our direction. I fell to the floor, my legs just gave way from the exhaustion and I hit the ground hard. The girl being thrust forward from me towards the priest. I blacked out.

I awoke a while later with the sound of the priests hymns bellowing from the church altar. Amidst the smell of incense and the sight of ritual smoke. I turned my head to see what was going on. The girl was laying on the altar, her body twitching and turning, all the while the priest was above her reciting from his prayer book. I tried to get up, I found my chest had been bandaged and some of my armour removed to check for other wounds. I could see the girl was in pain, I had to help.

"Sto....stop. What are you doing to her?! Cant you see....arrgh...she is in pain?" My chest burnt as I rose up onto my feet. The same searing heat I could see in the girls eyes back there, I could feel on my body now.
"She is being changed...by...some evil presence within her! I have to exorcise it before its too late!" The priest turned to go back to his prayers. As I reached out and grabbed his arm.
"No, you will let her be, she saved us from a Demon. She is not the evil one here. She is stronger then you think...arrrghhh....." The pain on my chest burnt more fiercely, I fell down to my knees, still clutching the priests arm. I could see it again...the fire burning within the demons eyes as she tore it from her fathers body.
"If I do not remove the curse she could be afflicted with it for the rest of her life! I must relieve her and cleanse her soul!"
"...nnn...No....I...comm..and you to stop...." A fierce teeth clenching feeling coursed through my body. The girl saved us, I must protect her. She was clearly more powerful then we knew, this exorcism could affect that. And that was something I couldn't let happen. The priest stopped his prayers. He turned towards me kneeling before the altar.
"You come to this church seeking aid...yet you choose not to allow me to do my duty? Be gone then! And take this witch of yours with you!" He slammed his book together and stormed off.

I managed to get to my feet, placing my hands on the altar and looking down at the girl. She was breathing now, faintly, I looked upon her skin to see markings had etched themselves onto her pale form. A mixture of black and red, flaring orange symbols in between. I saw a silver chain around her neck, a small locket was bound in the center. Studded with a small green gem, underneath was written something. I gently lent forward and reached for the locket, my hand touching the gem slightly.....Suddenly the girl awoke and leaped at me, grabbing onto my chest and wrapping her small arms and legs around me, I was very weak and I fell back onto the floor. Her now lying on top, her breathing had got faster and I could feel her heart racing. Her eyes darting across the room from place to place, looking for something....

"You...are safe now child....the demon is gone..." I bit my mouth shut after each word as the pain on my chest grew once more.
"........." Her breathing was slowing down, her eyes less frantic then before.
"Child, what is your name?" My heart was calming with hers, our breathing becoming regular once more. She took one arm slowly off from around me, and grabbed the locket, and lifted it gently towards my head. I very carefully lifted one arm, and brushed the locket with my hand. It was her name....

"Pixy." I cried out, luckily her tent was close to Johns. Although she probably knew already that I would send for her soon enough. She slowly walked in, cautious as ever, looking around the tent to make sure everything was where it should be. Even us. She was wearing a long, gem encrusted gown, full of intricate designs. It almost looked as if they changed in pattern as she came forward. Gently bowing her head before us. I mirrored this and did the same. Shortly followed by the rest of the men.
"...Yes?" She slowly said, tilting her head gently to the side.
"I'm afraid I may have to ask for your help one more time, if you would be so kind as to lend your powers to us?" I crossed my arms behind my back and stood tall in between my commanders. She flicked her eyes upwards, tilting her head back and forth gently, side to side, thinking. Although most people would have thought this to be drifting off into dreams, she had a certain way about her that may have made her look "off" to some.

She focused back down on me, gazing at each other, a small flicker of fire kicked up in the center of her eyes.
"Yes!" she proclaimed. "I must prepare!" she turned about face and tip toed out of the tent, her gown flowing in the wind behind her. Allowing us to turn back towards each other.

"We are all in agreement then?" I peered around at the other men, they all nodded slowly. Nerves starting to set in. "Good, begin the preparations and I will meet you at the front in a couple of hours. There are a few things I need to take care of first." I spun around, leaving the men to chat amongst themselves whilst I marched out of the tent. Just as I made it through the flapping door to the tent a guard quickly approached me with a certain worry in his eye.

"My Lord!" He blurted out.
"Yes?"
"Sir, I...I have seen movement upon the rocks behind us. I would have warned my officer but I was unable to find him sire..." He stood sharply to attention, slightly worried about my reply. His eyes flicking towards mine then back to in front of him.
