Default My favorite book series

I really love authors that put out a whole series of books, based on a certain character. It gives me something to look forward to when that author puts out a new book, and it helps me cope with my issues when i read about a character i have become very familiar with through previous books. So here are a few of my favorite book series!!

1) The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich- i swear i laugh hysterically every time i read these books, over and over again! This series is a comedic-mystery type about a woman named Stephanie who becomes a bounty hunter after losing her job as a lingerie buyer. If you want a great laugh, read this series!

2) J.D. Robbs's "In Death" series- This series is a darker mystery that really appeals to me when i'm in a dark and sad mood. Just picked up the new hardcover yesterday, can't wait to read it!

3) "The Murder,She Wrote" series, based on the old TV Show- Loved the TV show, love the books! They are original stories with the characters from the show, not novelizations of the episodes.

Those are just my top 3 series that i absolutely love!

Sorry to interrupt, but I just stumbled upon a cool Mark Twain quote:

The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them.

neat huh?

I like the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant by Stephen R Donaldson. There's about 10 books and recently he started making more.

Reading books in series is an amazing thing. Its always nice to finish a good book and know there are more just like it waiting for you. Makes finishing it just a bit less sad.

You might like the Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters. Its a murder/mystery series like all the ones you've listed, but its set in Egypt in the late 1800's to early 1900's.

The Riftwar trilogy by Raymond E Feist is my favourite--in order; they're Magician, Silverthorn, and A Darkness at Sethanon.

The "Hyperion Cantos" by Dan Simmons. An amazing series, with perhaps the most incredible ending I've ever read. Glorious!

I remember those books from years ago ... there are more in the series recently no?
Hard to read but brilliantly written - something about a robot with the brain of a poet in there too.
