Boring girls by Sara "Chibi" Taylor. I am loving this novel so far. The chaptors seem short but fun. I am on the seventh. I can relate to the character Rachel. I purchased the book for my iphone and so far I couldn't put my phone down. I can't wait to read more but I had to take a break. Btw the author is also the singer of toronto electronic rock band The Birthday Massacre which I love. She is my favorite singer and I will continue to read her book everynight!
Here is a description of the story:
"Rachel feels like she doesn’t fit in — until she finds heavy metal. The music gives her an outlet for her creativity and a sense that there’s a community waiting outside the walls of her high school. Then she meets Fern — a kindred spirit — and the two begin writing songs and form their own band. But the metal scene turns out to be no different than the misogynist world they want to change. Violent encounters escalate, and the friends decide there’s only one way forward . . .
A bloodstained journey into the dark heart of the music industry, Boring Girls traces Rachel’s deadly coming-of-age, Fern at her side — as the madness deepens, their band’s success heightens, and their taste for revenge grows ravenous."
