I've posted about anxiety before but damn this shit sucks. Out of nowhere I get these 10-20 minute bursts of anxiety that sometimes turn into panic attacks. My job can be stressful at times but I have to excuse myself and delegate myself support tasks for a few minutes so I can re-center myself. I have no idea where they come from.

Anyways, that was my daily complaint.

Take care everyone!

Ahh that really sucks! I had horrible anxiety attacks in grad school, but they went away. Is there anything you can do on a regular basis to keep them at bay? Perhaps doing breathing exercises while at your desk? Sorry if it sounds dumb, just trying to help..

I appreciate the advice. Yeah, I do breathing exercises. Have to keep the dizziness from hyperventilation at bay. Just throws the whole day off.

What type of work do you do? I've never had many anxiety attacks but I've had a few jobs where the anxiety was so bad it tool me several hours to get out of bed. I had the same problem with school which is probably the biggest reason I don't have a degree right now.

I do all sorts of stuff at the moment. Cabling, fixing end user stuff, networking, pretty much anything that is needed. The work isn't the problem. Dealing with people is. I've never been very good at it. I'm not a good saleman. I tell them what they need and if they don't want to do it, fine, I don't care. The stress comes from having to explain why I didn't sell something to my superiors.

Being introverted by nature coupled with depression and anxiety and being generally shy by nature is why I get anxiety at work.
