Default Job hunting anxiety

So I've been looking for a job for a year, pretty much... but a few days ago I moved to the city where it should be a lot easier to find a job. The place I was living in before was so small and so there weren't a lot of opportunities there.

Basically, what I need to do is get off to a good start in this new location, but I'm having a hard time with it because I haven't worked a lot in the past, and so a lot of the time I get really anxious about the idea of applying somewhere. I guess it's also because I can be very shy, and the idea of being put into an environment that is new to me(as in whatever place I end up working in) makes me really nervous.

Ideally I'd like to work as a translator or something in which I could make use of the languages I speak(I studied a lot of them at university), but I guess it doesn't matter too much what I end up doing, so long as I don't *hate* it and I'm making money doing it. I just really need to find a way of getting over this anxiety of mine so that it doesn't ruin this new start for me in the city. :(

Its really tough in this economic climate, hang in there and apply for anything that takes your fancy.

A lot of the job hunting is in my belief luck. The more you apply for the better chance you have got.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

I am also a shy person who is very prone to social anxiety, (but I've gotten a bit better lately :)) I remember I was looking for my first job. Ever. I was a little teenager, incredibly shy and awkward, I had no job experience, I barely had enough social experience with people to function.
I was looking for work in Kokomo, Indiana, which must to the chagrin of the town, had recently made forbe's list for one of the quickest dying towns in the country.
It took me a year to find work, but I eventually found something. So, in short, I believe that you'll find something. Stay determined, stay focused on your goals, keep trying, and don't let yourself get discouraged and give up (I know a lot of people who have done that, and it's the worst thing you can do.)
Good luck.

Yeah, I've been fighting for a long time not to give up, and I think that after being shot down so many times this past year I really had given up for awhile. I just have to make sure that doesn't happen again now that I have a fresh start and a sudden burst of determination.

Thanks for your encouragement.
