What at work exactly is making you anxious? What about the elections are making you anxious? What kind of anxiety do you have? There are so many phobias... do you have social phobia at work or something?

Hey, coffee actually took away my social phobia (because my social phobia was all about people judging me cuz I was too lazy to do things) but you say it makes your anxiety worse and so maybe you need a sedating type of antidepressant?

Hey Surf - what are the anxiety meds you are taking? Betablockers or something like that?

Doc prescribed me Citalopram which is supposed to help depression and anxiety but in my opinion the anxiety has got worse since I started taking them.

It sounds like you know yourself pretty well! A friend of mine gave me really good advice to get through a lot of stressful work. He said he takes 20-30 minutes out at times during working hours just to go and sit in a cafe and read a newspaper. He doesn't tell anyone that he does it but he schedules it in at the start of the week and makes sure it takes priority. He finds that taking this time out during the stressful week really gives him more energy to do his job more efficiently and also to be more productive at home with his family.

I'm not quite as disciplined as he is yet but I have found it to be very helpful. I'm the director of a small company with 2 small children so life is very frought and I totally understand how trying to cope with a mental problem is extremely difficult when things are busy with work/life. If only we could take the time to help ourselves.
