Sometimes I feel like an expanding balloon. Anxiety fills me. As the anxiety increases I feel the tension of the balloon that is my body growing more tense and stretched. Although I know anxiety will not cause my balloon to pop (kill me), but it certainly can cause a great deal of discomfort. Basically I feel like an unbreakable balloon.

I find it so funny how debilitating anxiety can be.

For so long I have searched for the cause of my anxiety, but haven't been able to find its genesis.

Clonazepam helps deflate the balloon a bit, but never allows it to fully deflate.

The funny part is I feel it mainly at work, public places, social interactions, etc.

Every time I write about it I have a little revelation. Just now I wondered if I have social anxiety because I have been hurt so much by people. It fits. Work, public places, social situations - all of these force me to deal with people.

I trust my family, which is why I don't have anxiety with them - at least not the same type of anxiety. I think with my family the anxiety I experience is just frayed nerves from suffering throughout the week.
