Unhappy Anxiety making me think my heart will explode?

I've been suffering from some severe anxiety issues for the past few years but it seems to have gotten worse. Is it at all possible for someone's heart to literally explode or is it really just all in my head? When I start thinking like this, my heart speeds up really fast and I get a feeling as though I need to run away or I'm gonna go crazy. Can anyone help me out with this? I think I've developed a fear of my own heart

It cant explode. It can rupture, fibrilate, have heart attack, angina pectoris, many things... But none of them is that scary. All fixable issues with nice team of doctors. Its hard for person to get any heart issues, unless person got it with birth, or if person eats unhealthy food. Your fear is anxiety, but it may be a good kind of it. Maybe it can push you to eat healthier and work out when you can. If you start doing that, i can feel free to assure you, that you will minimize the risk of any heart related issue to minimum.

Thank you for your reply :) Yes, my anxiety is terrible, almost unbearable some days. Whenever I have an anxiety attack, the first thing I fear is my heart exploding from pounding in my chest. It sucks but it's good to know it's really just anxiety and not something actually serious. Thanks again :)

Sounds like basic tachycardia from an anxiety attack, it's actually a natural (fight or flight) response to anxiety. Adrenaline flooding is the most likely culprit for your elevated heart rate. You can sit or lay back in a comfortable position, close your eyes and breathe very deeply and rhythmically to reduce the adrenaline and bring your heart rate down quickly ;-)

I'm been suffering months with panic disorder. Fear my hear will literally beat out of my chest, fainting you name it.

Have you seemed help with your anxiety? I am now on medication, and see a psychologist once a week, I feel tons better. I can still feel the anxiety and panic trying to creep in, but my mind is in a better place to handle it.
