Smile To all members: Thank you!

Dear Members,

Looking around the forum often makes me smile. I see so much compassion here. You care about each other, try to support each other - even if you are struggling yourself. I hope you can all give yourself some credit for helping each other. It doesn't matter if you respond with a long post or if it is "just a hug". Just the fact that you read their post and that you want to reply to them helps other people. It shows them that they are not alone, and that they matter.

And if you do not feel up to replying to someone, that is okay as well. Depression makes talking to people hard to do, and our members here know that. You are not alone. Please remember that. There are people on this forum that have been in the darkness and knows how it feels. And there are people who have passed through it and are feeling better. You can do it too. I believe in you.

Thank you all for supporting each other on the journey to feeling better.

well yes,Ella..you said it with the right words..thank you...
i bet it must be not so easy to be a moderator on a forum like this?
but you're right==we are all here to listen to others peoples rants and perhaps problems...
fact is there is a great majority here even if they are depressive or feel down and out,
all of them want a better brighter life...a well meant word of support can be a boost up...
a little light in a dark day..i am a positive thinker...always have been,
i had my dark days in the past.but now i think..oh..we only live or life once..
so..carpe diem, let's make something of it..i wish all of you good vibes,
and see to it that every day you smile at least once(ahah)

It is always nice to see your posts here tigerlover. A positive light shining to help others when you don't seem to require any particular reason to be here otherwise. Thank you!

Nice post Ella too - thank you for providing us with a place to share our vastly different yet comfortingly similar experiences.

I'm glad to hear that you like my post. I'm often thinking this when I'm working here, and thought I'd let you all know, because you deserve to get some credit.

While my job here can be challenging at times, it gives me an energy boost when I see that you like it here, that you find comfort here, and that you eventually feel better. If I can do something to help people out there find a place where they can talk and feel heard, that is rewarding to me. Even though it may often seem that way to someone who is struggling, depression is not a constant. It changes, it passes, and you can actually feel better.

Again, thank you all for helping each other getting through the rough days. The forum would not be what it is without all of you.

@Ella.well yes..by creating this forum it really can give a boost up to people who really think they are down and out in life very often due to earlier trauma's,hardship and injustice in their life, therefore we must create a platform for support to one another...so in that sense all the credit goes to the moderators who involve themselves daily to run this forum well..our happiness in our life depends upon the quality of our thoughts, actions, reactions, but also on the fact that quality of life depends on the person(s)we love and trust in our life...
P.S...Ella...would it be possible to extend the edit options for postings a bit longer then 5 minutes...I make a lot of spelling mistakesi would suggest put it up to 15 minutes..is that possible?any thoughts about this from other members? greetings...tigerlover

Hi tigerlover,

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I think changing it to 15 minutes is a bit too long. Threads could cease to make sense if members could edit their posts for a long time after making them. We have had some members suggest an increase of the edit time previously, one thread here for instance:
https://www.takethislife.com/suggesti...length-175754/

If there are any particular post you would like edited, you can report it and we can have a look at it. I can't promise that we can edit posts on requests, as our time is limited, but we try to comply when we can.

As for spelling mistakes, depending on which browser you are using, you can use a function in the browser to make you aware of spelling mistakes. In Firefox, the text box shows a red line under words that are not in the dictionary. It might also help to preview your post and read through it one more time before you post it on the forum.

Best regards,
Ella

O.K,Ella..thanks for your answer here..i see the point..i would feel great if it could be 10 min instead of 5 min...in that period of time not much could be changed by members so that the thread would lose its original values..advanced mode...Oh..yeah...thanks anyway,Ella===you're a gem of a person
