hi im new to this forum. i created this account just to share my experience with these alternatives to prescription meds. My dad is a psychiatrist and we tried all the worthless anti depressant crap. ruined my sex drive, made me a zombie etc.
L-tryptphan is the precursor so serotonin. Serotonin is linked to depression if there is a lack of it. The med crap basically shoves what little serotonin you have into the synapse and keeps it there.
What you need to do is supplement tryptophan. it actually creates more serotonin so you can restore your brain back to normal balance.
I have been depressed for many years but since i have used this combination i feel great. i take two 500mg of tryptophan at night and a SAM-e 400mg in the morning. Sam-e is kind of expensive but it is worth it.
There is kind of a worry about the tryptophan because years back some Japanese company tried to make their tryptophan cheaper by using a genetic engineering thing. It didnt work and the bad tryptophan made many people sick.
Since then it hasnt really been used. It should be used more. I recommend it.
