At a point in my life I felt there was no path or option other then harming myself. Everyday just seemed to get worse and worse. I lost track of everything that used to drive me. I felt distant and stuck in a life I couldn't grasp anymore. After making a terrible decision I was forced to seek help. I want whoever is reading this to know NOT TO GIVE UP! Everything seems terrible right now because you have lost your passion in life and are looking for a way to rectify things. Something I wasn't aware of was a test called “Myers-Briggs Type Indicator" (MBTI) it’s a assessment psychometric questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. I took this assessment at my counselors’ office and it described me to a T! Why you ask is this important? Because to be happy with life you must be first happy with yourself. Everything seemed terrible because I had lost my direction in life. (MBTI) breaks thing's down and told me what I would truly be happy doing in life. This gave me a new outlook on life and I learned just because a job doesn't make you rich or powerful doesn't mean it can't make you happy. I've also involved myself with charity. This is a great way of re-entering society which you like me probably distanced yourself from. Please try this if you haven't. There are people that care that your here! “Breath, Take a shower, Run" Take that first step to a healthy you and there is no shame in seeking help.
I've known I'm an INTP for a few years, doesn't help.
The truth is a friend to no one. It simply is what it is. That's all.
just want to say i am pleased that it helps some people but the psychological validity of the myers-briggs test is not great. it is based on jungian theory and most of that theory came from observation and anecdotal evidence which is generally considered to be inconclusive in the field of psychology. the advocates of the myers briggs test are those that stand to benefit from its usage and as a test it has recieved very little critical scrutiny from anyone outside myers briggs advocates to confirm its reliability. it is also considered to be vague and overgeneralised.
