hi again,
so now i'm off all meds and i'm exercising like crazy, i go out for a 3 mile run early in the morning and i try to get another one in in the evening, plus i'm riding my bike around whenever i can instead of driving, and going swimming with my kids at least every other day.
i have to say, i'm feeling significantly better. today i started sinking into a depressive state of mind but it didn't get as bad as it's been known to get in the past by any means, and i was still able to get up the motivation to...go running! and after i ran, i felt SO much better.
if anybody's looking for a natural, healthy way to alleviate depression, this is it.

To be honest...I have never really been the exercise loving type of person. Sport, dancing and anything like that is out of the question for me...I am unco-ordinated.

During the past two weeks, I have made [and stuck to] a commitment of going for a walk each evening. This seems to be good [for me] for helping relieve stress and anger.
Sometimes I have been going and sitting after a walk at the local nature reserve. Just sitting there...listening to the birds, watching the leaves sway in the trees, it makes me not want to return home.
When walking in amoungst nature, I feel at peace, like I belong in the wild.

It sounds silly really, but sometimes I could just keep walking forever.

i'm not very coordinated either and i love walking (like you, I could do it forever) and it helps me feel better.

walking bores me... i find it more of a chore... like when i wana go somewhere and have to walk .. its like... ughhh i dont feel like it.. it takes too long etc etc... duno i just cant get into walkin... i did used to walk lots tho...not out of enjoyment tho

I find that walking can be a bore when it just goes on and on and there's no challenge. When I walk now for exercise, I walk fast and keep pushing myself. The best part is going up hills because I push myself hard. Sometimes on the hills I start running because the walking isn't fast enough for me. I walk for over 2 hours and get home feeling hot and tired, which is a nice feeling. When I get home I drink water, which is so wonderful when I'm hot and thirsty. It's one of those tiny things in life, which is just so great, and should be savoured.

It feels good to exercise, but if I walked slowly for those 2 hours it just wouldn't be the same. For me, it would be kind of pointless to walk slowly because I wouldn't get a good workout.
