Default Caffiene

I notice that I get a little more depressed when I drink coffee or black tea. I was wondering if anyone knew what the effects of caffiene is on mood? or is it all just in my head?

caffiene is a stimulant, so it can bring you about pretty quick, make you more perky. Maybe that's what you're feeling off of it, a "high" of sorts from the caffiene.

I heard that it's not the "high" from the caffine, but the "low" that is the crash when the caffine wears off... Not sure how it all works, but I was told by a counsellor once to stay away from caffine and alcohol because of their chemical effects on the brain. (I'm still a coffee addict, but my GOD let me have SOMEthing!) ;)

Don't drink it, if having a high on anxiety. Will just amplify your anxiety. AnyCola does that too.

Thank you, good to know. I'm going to miss coffee and black tea, but at least I know that it may be a factor.

P.S. I don't drink cola - too sweet for me.

Caffiene is a stimulate so it shouldn't make you more depressed. I always find it relieves the depression somewhat. The anxiety is a negative; some are more sensitive to it than others. However, I've read that it's' not the caffiene that has a negative effect but the chemicals byproducts from the processsing of the coffee that cause that. Try green tea as it's simply dried. I've never noticed any anxiety from green tea. Coffee, yes.

cola has a shitload of acid in it so it's best not to drink, it can dissolve just about anything in a matter of days if set in a bowl and the containers that carry the pure ingredient have to be marked haz-mat because in it's pure form it's basically an acid.

The green tea suggestion is great. I usually have coffee or black tea in the afternoon, but today I had a green tea latte, thanks to your suggestion. It's definitely not the same, but I hope it'll be worth it and it's a good substitute for my afternoon cravings.

Venom, I did not know that about cola. It's amazing the kind of crap we ingest.
