Question Blogging as motivation for progress / anxiety exposure?

Has anyone tried this? Like, keeping a blog or online journal such as the ones on TTL, and using it to set goals and sort of be accountable to do exposure etc?

I'm not sure how helpful this idea would be for me, but I mean, people find motivation to lose weight by keeping weight loss blogs and such, so maybe it would work with anxiety exposure too. If I could have a journal or blog where I can say "tomorrow I will do X and Y and write about how it goes" then perhaps I'd feel like I need to write about it, and so I would do it (I tend to back out of exposure situations A LOT). Come to think of it, this is where having a really good phone with internet would come in handy (excuse the pun). If I were able to connect to a blog site or TTL while out and about (technically I can with my current phone, but it's not convenient, I mean something like a Blackberry or Sidekick), I could do that to ease my anxiety while getting some exposure done.

To anyone reading this, have you or any people you know of had some luck with using a public journal or blog to aid anxiety treatment/exposure? What are your thoughts on trying this - do you think it's a good idea or am I grasping at straws?

(I am going to research this further after posting this thread)

Just recently, I made a blog simply for the motivational aspect. It's rare I have anxiety, but when I do, I want to rant it all down on paper, show it to someone, and hope they understand. A blog can do that, it all depends on who you show it too/who will follow. I've used facebook to get some hits on mine, but I haven't really down anything for a sense of catharsis yet, but I'm sure I could turn to it in my time of need.

I have set goals for myself with the blog and it definitely makes me feel productive and busy. Overall, I think it's helped me feel better in a way. If your audience likes it too, that is definitely a plus. Remember, you can teach others with your entries. I can't say it would be a MAJOR solution, but I can say that it will more than likely help. So go for a blog, get some followers from here maybe, and I think you'll feel like you're contributing to your life and theirs.
