Does anybody have any recommendations for a a book or books to give me some better understanding of my issues and how to cope ?
Specifically social anxiety and depression. I am a very technical person and learn best through accurate clearly defined facts. I tend to switch off when anything starts to get fluffy and 'new age'. I like to be told why and how, rather than personal opinions and experiences. Basically I am 100% geek
Any advice on books that cover the details of what anxiety is, why it can become a disorder, what causes this, and specific tools I can use to help myself go about a more normal life ?
Now I know the whole area is not exactly fully understood and defined but I have only looked at one book and I got about half a page in and stopped when it said "You are great, tell yourself that every morning".

I think my depression is caused by the social anxiety so its the anxiety which I am most interested in addressing.
