5-htp would be a good way to go IMO. Its related to the famous Tryptophan, which has been known to be effective for both sleep, and depression, by tweaking your serotonin levels. You could goggle Tryptophan and read the Controversy surrounding it. Its supposedly back and being sold ONLINE again. 5-htp, however, it NOT known to cross what is called the blood brain barrier. Thus meaning; its effectiveness would be questionable ingested.
I've tried it myself and didn't really notice much in the way of any benefit, but thats me. Your experience could be different. Its, however, sold if most local drug stores and supermarkets.
