Does anyone else ever do this? On my bad days (like today) I do this a lot. I think it's in response to physical pain I actually feel from the depression. I grimace almost as a way to brace myself for the jolt of pain that I'll feel when I'm really stressed or hurting. I'm surprised more people don't notice.

Hi Brandon86. Yeah, come to think of it, I do grimace at times. I most often catch myself because my face actually starts to cramp up with the scowling. Or someone else will look at me and say "what the hell is wrong with you?"

(At which I reply in my head, "I don't have time to get into that with you right now". And on the outside I smile and say "Just thinking deeply about something. Sorry if I scared you.")

I do it too. I'll be out with my friends, and most often they're in their couples, and I'll be the only one single and alone there. We'll be having fun until the conversation turns to the couples talk about their futures or being in love or being happy and I'll just completely get down. Like, I can feel my face and my mood drop. Sadly it's my token face most face most times so people don't even notice anymore.

So to answer your question, yes, I do it too. The emotional pain feels as real as physical does. Worse even.
