Experience with Windows internet security 2010 virus

Ok, so I got this virus just from looking at a webpage. It disabled malwarebytes completely and when I terminated the process with task manager I would try to open malwarebytes and it would activate the virus again. So, I rebooted in safe mode and used malwarebytes and it worked and it found some infections so I was thinking everything's fine now. Wrong. I rebooted afterward and everything seemed okay until I tried to open an application and it asked me what program to use to open this. It did this for every application I tried to open, and some things wouldn't work at all.

The first thing I thought was system restore but the help and support wouldn't open either. At this point I'm thinking the virus is gone. My computer's just fucked and I'm gonna have to have my bro in law come and reinstall windows. Feeling sort of hopeless, I tried rebooting in safe mode again even though, as I said, I thought the computer was fucked anyway. Fortunately in safe mode the help and support worked and I was able to use system restore and now everything's fine again, thank god.

I guess I'm just venting because I was worried sick there for a while.

If it happens again you can try something like cleanmypc.com (I think), or housecall, or dr. Webcure it (only in safe mode). You can also try downloading free versions of programs like McAffee, Norton etc. Clean my pc, house call and Dr webcure it are all free by the way.
