Default Effexor take same time every day?

Hey peeps.

On Monday by P-Doc prescribed me Effexor XL 37.5mg for my anxiety and recent panic attacks.

I have read up on these and people say that it is best taken at the same time every day.

My problem is, is that my sleeping pattern has been all over the place atm.
Somedays I get up at 10am, then 1pm, 8am and so on. I never wake up at the same time every day.

This has really been bothering me, I still haven't taken my first pill because of this.

Anyone on TTL ever been on these and does the same time everyday really matter?

Also I forgot to mention to my P-doc I take Zopiclone every now and again, due to my sleeping. I have read up on Serotonin Syndrome, and am now terrified of taken these too lol.

Any help would be great.
I really want to start on these to see if they help, I have tried to stay away from the horror withdrawal stories as I know if I do read them I will not give them a chance.

Well, i dont feel competent to talk about medications, since i am still only on student level, and most of pharmacology is in later years. But whats common to majority of medications overall, is that they should be taken in strict pattern, in order to keep the effective dosage of medication in your blood. Now that sounds somehow confusing, i will try to explain better.
Lets say that effect of 1 pill lasts, like in your case 24h. That means that effective dosage of drug lasts 24h, which then means that if you take it lets say 8h earlier, you will build up dosage in your blood and effect of drug will be much higher, but it will also make side-effects worse and depending on drug it may cause overdose. If you take it 8h late, effect of drug will shrink or dissappear and well you wouldnt feel effect of drug during that 8h where effective dose wasnt in your blood. Also it will take longer for that pill to take some effect, since it takes some time to absorb the pill.

So, its always the best, with every drug, to have a schedule. Maybe set alarm early in morning and then take a pill and depending on your needs, either continue to sleep, or just do whatever you want to do in the house or outside of it, be awake, lol. :)

Dont be paranoid about it, but i advise you to take it in fixed amount of time. :)

Can you take it in the evening or at night? That's when I take mine.

It's an SSRI right? Because time of day shouldn't matter if it is unless it's supposed to keep you awake or something. But I'd definitely ask if it matters what time of day, so long as it's taken consistently.
