I'm curious to know why you care? Schizophrenia is a complicated condition- it's essentially about not having any idea what reality is about.

It's different for each person. Not everyone hears voices. I know about psychosis since I have been diagnosed as schizophrenic. It can happen in post natal depression even. But anyway. What symptom s are you picking up on? I'd ask a professional if you are worried.

I THINK my Boyfriend may be dealing with Schizophrenia. I have mentioned this before, but a few times now, I have Skype webcam chatted with him and even Facetimed with him on iPhone and he still thinks, he hears people saying stuff like how he's not the guy for me, he thinks I am talking to other guys, or he hears noises like chat room sounds etc. When I am not in any online chat rooms, just talking to him. Also any other sounds he may be hearing, it's probably due to the TV being on in my room and I also have the window open so airplanes, crickets etc. making sounds.

I just don't know what to do but this keeps happening. He wants me to give him a heads up if I have something going on but come on he should know my route by now. If I talk to him I have the TV on and or music on so that's where the noises and or sounds are coming from. I just don't know but this is hurting me and it is hurting him too. I don't know what to do anymore.

That does sound worrying. I wonder if there's anyone else aware of the situation who you could have as an ally? Maybe a member of his family?

I hope you let him know you want to let him know what's true and what isn't. He may be experiencing hearing voices -- or not. If he is, it can make someone feel very suspicious of all sounds he hears.

Some of those sounds are probably real: The sounds created by Skype and other connections are very strange, like wind or a fan, or electronic sound or other things. Both sides of the call don't usually hear the same thing. Just my guess that some of the weird sounds he hears when skypeing you are due to this. I hear added sounds often on Skype, whether the person is an hour away, or a continent away.

Schizophrenia is more of a sliding spectrum than a simple condition that has the same symptoms for every sufferer of it, from my understanding. If I remember right, Paranoid Personality Disorder could be counted as a very mild form of schizophrenia, while delusions of grandeur and full blown audible and visual hallucinations are at the other end of the spectrum.
