Default Holiday trip.

It seems my mom and I are going to Turkey in the end of the next week. We'll be gone in a week in an all inclusive hotel.
Everyone else would be happy about it and glad to be able to rest before the coming period in school.
I'm having bad anxiety.
Anxious about showing myself in a bikini (my self image is poor). Even worse, I've slipped back into SI and thus my right thigh look like a cutting board.
I don't know what to do. Mom's gonna be worried/terrified when she sees it...
I'm not in a good shape either, depression&anxiety has been getting worse the past couple weeks and I've been suicidal and shit..
Help?

Hmm... I have a few ideas about this. I'm from Turkey and I can say that you'll have a great holiday here. And the most important thing is the SUN, our natural antidepressant. You can't believe how a beneficial source of vitamin it is. But don't forget sunscreen, Turkey is very hot.

You won't believe it now but holiday is the last place to feel bad. And you're saying an "all inclusive" hotel. Please please please go to sauna - Turkish bath - bubble massage - full body relaxing oil massage and then jump into the pool/go get some sleep... (in that order) Then come back and tell me you don't feel good =)

That's my suggestion to you.

But, letting your mom see your self-inflicted scars will be bad I guess. You can get a pareo, a wraparound skirt for the beach.

You can also have friends here because as Turkish people we tend to see the Scandinavian people as honest, friendly and trustable. I don't like generalizations but most Scandinavian people have been like this... (My family is in the tourism business.)

Which city?

I know that turkey's supposed to be a pretty place and yeah we'll probably have the turkish bath and everything.
DOn't think that will help my depression cause it hasn't all the other times I've been on holiday and such though.

Well, I think it'll be very hard to keep it secret though and it really feels like that would really destroy our vacation.
I'll try to have a look out for those swimsuit-skirts, if I get one that I can bathe with that'd be good.

the most important thing about being on holiday is that you can completely disconnect from normal life and enjoy things, i hope you find a way to do that, it's rejuvinating

Yes, I mean I wish if I had a holiday now. I would leave everything aside and even imitate happy people and dance like crazy. Because nobody knows me or hates me on holiday =)

I cant give you much advice, I've been on an island the past two weeks and I only took one bath, and that was at a place where no one could see me. I had a jacket on the whole time and it was really warm, and ofc I had to answer for why i didnt wear a t-shirt when it was hot. lol. hope you have a great time in Turkey, I lived in Istanbul when I was younger and the people are awesome in there :D sorry for writing so much. Take care butterfly

The trip went better than expected - we had nice, warm weather and mom didn't react to my SI and stuff... But I've had anxiety (well, guess it can't be helped..) and a little breakdown in the hotelroom and a couple of people asking me about my scars (even in restaurants, I find that a bit rude)...... Anyway, we just relaxed most of the time, went and got the hamam and stuff... Now I'm home again. Anxiety since yesterday. I miss my beloved rat so much... Idk. I'm not that good.
