Default Am I "losing it?"

Hi everyone, hope you're all well.

Right the past month has been a bit crazy, what with me being in hospital & then my mother having a stroke, it's been a shitty time.
But to be honest I've actually handled it better than I thought I would, so I'm kinda pleased with myself.

However over the past few months I've been having some weird things go on at night, just last night for example I awoke to find of all things a "red swastika" drawn on my window, but it wasn't there, y'know? I was like kinda dreaming, but for ages now it's been like this, I see red writing that doesn't make sense on the window or wall & it's freaking me out a bit.

I'm on Fluoxetine, so could it be that?

how long does the writing remain on the walls/window?

If it's there for only a few seconds, then obviously you are still dreaming. The thing is that there is a state when we are just waking up from sleeping where it's neither asleep nor awake. You can still dream in this state, but usually only for a few more seconds until you fully wake up.

It's possible that this happened and for whatever reason your dream mind created the swastika on the window.

Then once you got obsessed about it, your brain is now re-creating the dream over and over in various forms because, well, that's what your mind is thinking about.

It's kind of like if you tell yourself emphatically 'when i wake up im going to see a smurf' - you'd be surprised how during those first few seconds prior to waking up you might thing you actually see smurf.

And yes, some medications can exaggerbate this phenomena. You should talk to your doc about vivid dreaming and whether its something to worry about.

Thanks man, thought I was going a bit y'know...

:)

It lasts long enough for me to get out of bed & walk towards the window or wall, the closer I get, the quicker it fades.

I think next time I'll try to imagine Cheryl Cole naked! lol, worth a try.
