Thumbs up Your Birthday It's Only Every Year

Have any of you ever felt anxious about your Birthday? I know it's a day to celebrate and be happy but with me ever since I turned into my 20s I always get really anxious every time my Birthday comes around.

My Birthday this year is this Thursday and I will be 28 and to me thats a big deal and I am so anxious, I feel like I am a year older and still haven't accomplished anything since leaving high school.

Any of you ever feel this way?

For me it's the opposite. I always feel way older then I am and it's like "wow, I'm only turning ___" I think its really common for people to be anxious about that tho.

Wait for now And I'll kneel down,
Know my ground..

And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
So I'll be bold
As well as strong
And use my head alongside my heart
So take my flesh
And fix my eyes
That tethered mind free from the lies

My b-day just bothers me. Though I only ever enter the "Im (insert age) and I haven't (insert event)" when seeing others do something similar.

I don't like my birthdays. I hate getting reminded that I am getting older. I know people who are younger than me have accomplish more than I have.

I couldn't agree more.

Interesting- I get anxious on my birthday but mostly because it feels like there's more than a comfortable level of attention on me. It's been particularly bad at 'milestone' birthdays.

My birthday reminds me that I spent one more year past the day I should have died. Admittedly, during the last 2 birthdays, I had to work overtime (11 hours last year, 13 the year before) so I generally am too busy during the day and too tired once I'm out of there to do or think about anything but the thought always comes back either the day before or the day after. It's for the best though, means I don't think too much that day.

Haven't "celebrated" my birthday in 3 years.

Well I am 28 now and it hasn't settled in just yet but perhaps it will? I don't know it just feels weird and I just feel like a failure because I haven't gotten a job like other 20 something's :/.

I just had my 21st recently and I tried to get away with doing nothing, but my parents wouldn't have it. I find celebrating my own birthday pointless. I understand celebrating for others, but I find nothing special about it for myself. I don't care and it adds unnecessary anxiety and stress for me. But I guess the money I received was pretty nice
