Default How to erase something from your mind

There's something that has happened to me recently were I thought I would be in trouble but everything turned out to be fine. Now I'm trying to forget what I did wrong because it is tormenting me. It's preventing me from being at peace. And its messing me up. I havent been eating as much, my stomach always feels funny, and I've been throwing up a little. How can I just forget this ever happened so I can be at peace again?

there isnt a way to get it out of your head straight away, it will take time.
it seems your still worrying about it ?
you havent dont anything wrong and you need to accept this, it seems your not as your still thinking your in the wrong.
Please dont worry yourself over it, as you said, nothing came of it so you have no reason to worry, you'll just make yourself unwell
Just tell yourself you've done nothing wrong, everything is fine because its the truth.
Keep positive and cut down the worrying
take care

I know everything's going to be fine but its messing me up. I'm so distraught that I've even been praying, and I'm not even religous. I told God I would never do anything like this again if this is how I would feel when I messed up. I feel as if the only way out of this is to either die or take drugs.

so why is it getting to you ?
neither is an option. things will get better and you will feel better once you have calmed yourself
It was a misunderstanding, nothing more, take deep breaths to try to calm yourself down
im here if you need me

How are we to learn from our mistakes if we forget about them?

Chalk this up as being an experience, one which you will hopefully learn from and no doubt forget about in due time my friend. That's how the universe works, there is no fast short-cut through the process.

I think he has learnt from this mistake, its not so much forgetting, just putting a bad experiance behind you and moving forward, obviously he wont fully forget what happened but he will move on from it

There're plenty of things I've done I wish I could forget about. And when I think of them, it can get me down, but I when I'm at that point it usually helps me to resolve to not make the same mistake again. If you're already at that point and you just want to put it behind you, give it time. Once you have closure, given enough time, you'll be able to move on.
