Just found this quote:

“What have you got to be depressed about?” The great British actor and comedian, Stephen Fry, a fellow-sufferer, replies “And what have you got to have asthma about?”

I've never told anyone about my depression or other issues. I saw a therapist briefly last year and the worst advice I received from her may actually have been the best advice. She told me to get over myself and fake it until I make it.

Smile and you will be happy.

Go help a dying animal.

Think about God and you will be happy and grateful.

Yup these are the 3 worst things that I've heard from people.

I wondered how I could not remember this one and then I realized I blocked it out! Actually, it's usually just telling me to pray and ask God to take it away but it's the same thing basically. Worse, there's no God in my religion. So bad advice coupled with the assumption that I'm a Christian which is a pet peeve of mine.

To take a flu jab, no doubt. Now I will never take another vaccination again in my life. I would rather die of ebola, thank you very much.

I think some of the worst things to be told is to just do this.. or other people have it worse than you do.. I just found this, and I think it's interesting..

A lot, but I try not to hold it against anyone and be resentful unless it's excessive, unsolicited help that continually makes me feel like an invalid. In any case, I try not to take it personally.
